Researchers call the octopus one of the most intelligent sea animals in the world and one such creature has put on quite a show for STV News cameras on Friday.
The "Scottish" eight-tentacled invertebrate was on display at its new home, Deep Sea World in North Queensferry, Fife. And it did not let anyone down.
The female octopus swam across the massive glass-enclosed tank with dozens of fellow creatures following along for a look. Although reddish brown in colour it can change shades quickly.
A Methil fisherman netted the rare form of the sea animal earlier this week. He pulled in the massive creature in one of his creels before donating the animal to Scotland's sea aquarium.

In full colour, the new addition on display at Deep Sea World.
It is the first octopus that Deep Sea World has had to display in almost a decade.
It does not have a name - yet - but no doubt our STV readers could use their creative juices to suggest a few. (Add your comments below.)
