The family of a teenage girl killed by a train at a level crossing have spoken of their devastation at the loss of their "wee angel".
Natalie Mulholland, 16, was hit at about 11.30pm on Saturday in Springfield, Fife.
Her family paid tribute to the "lovely, bright, independent and vivacious girl", known to her loved-ones as Natz.
In a statement released through British Transport Police (BTP), they said: "Her family is devastated at her death by what has been a tragic accident."
Her parents Karen and Andy Mulholland said the teenager was always on the go and that the house will be quiet without her.
The statement added: "They are lost without their beautiful youngest daughter.
"The family is pulling together and is very grateful to family and friends who have given them support at this awful time."
Her two elder sisters, Suzanne and Stephanie, described Natalie as their "best friend". Her elder brother Gavin said she was his "lovely wee sister".
The girl's grandparents said they will miss the "wonderful, talented girl" terribly.
Natalie was reportedly with a group of friends when the accident happened on the Cults Mill crossing. Tributes flooded on to the schoolgirl's social networking Bebo site.
For safety reasons, the family has asked for any floral tributes to be laid at Springfield Parish Church, with family tributes only to be left at the crossing.
BTP said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the Natalie, who lived in Springfield.
A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
