An STV viewer has contacted the station with an image of a strange sighting in the sky over Kirknewton in West Lothian.
John Brown sent us an email with the image above, which he says was taken on August 23, between 9.45pm and 10pm.
Mr Brown, who is a radio amateur, was monitoring his radio at the time and picked up no signals, which he says is not what he would expect from a meteor shower.
With regard the picture, he said that it was not steady on account of it being a long exposure, with the contrast altered to give an indea of the height above the trees.
Mr Brown said: "These aren't stars or meteors or planes.
He added: "I suspect its not the "West Lothian Triangle" but was space junk."
"Was a great show though."
Earlier this month an STV viewer contacted us with video and pictures of an object spotted in the skies above the Springburn area of Glasgow. While some visitors to the website speculated that it was Chinese lanterns, others reported seeing similar unidentified objects.
