Police have issued CCTV footage of a missing Edinburgh woman six days after she had previously been seen.
Elizabeth Brown, or Hunt, known to her friends as Betty, was spotted on a bus in Edinburgh on Friday, May 28.
The 55-year-old was reported missing on Tuesday, June 1.
She was seen on CCTV footage on a number 3 bus. She left the bus on Nicholson Street in the city at 11.55am.
She was wearing a black jacket, an open-necked blouse, blue jeans and black shoes, and was carrying two large 'Aldi' bags at the time.
A police spokesman said: "Betty is originally from Hawick, and there is a possibility she may have headed there from Nicholson Street.
A police spokesman said: "Betty hasn't been in touch with her friends or family, and this latest sighting of her was more than a week ago.
"We are growing increasingly concerned for her safety, and would appeal directly to Betty to make contact to confirm she is safe and well.
"We are exploring the possibility she may have travelled to Hawick from Nicholson Street, so we are now asking people in the Scottish Borders to look out for her too."
The CCTV image is the last known sighting of Betty, who was described as being 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build, with fair hair and glasses.
The spokesman added: "We would further appeal for anyone else with any information about where she is, or has seen her in the time she has been missing, to get in touch."
