Moviejuice arrived in Edinburgh last week as the latest film releases were given the treatment of Grant Lauchlan and our team of local reviewers - with a little help from Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog.
Friday’s show featured reviews of The Muppets, Daniel Radcliffe’s film The Woman in Black and Casablanca, which is returning to the big screen this year to mark its 70th anniversary.
Four fans who have never seen the Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman classic were asked to give their thoughts.
Anthony Polydorou said: "I didn’t think I was going to enjoy it but I was pleasantly surprised. If I am being honest the best part of the movie for me was the storyline. Quite brave if you consider when it was made. I had me entertained the whole way through."
Danielle Kelly added: "It has got something for all generations. The character Rick in particular, you can see reflections of Big in sex and the city. He runs a bar, men want to be him and women want to be with him. It has got something for everybody."
Stuart Kuczynski said: "It is a love story, there is great music in it, so many funny jokes. The ending is romantic and brilliant - it is good all the way through."
Meanwhile, Greig Gallagher was full of praise: "There is not a lot to not like about the film, to be honest. It has a really rich story, there is a lot to it. There is a back story, a subtext, that every time you watch it you will pick up on something new. It was just a total surprise."
Our panel of Edinburgh reviewers, meanwhile, gave mixed reviews of some of the other movies on show at the moment.
Paul Laird commented: "I would not recommend Man on a Ledge. All I can about this film is there was a man, there was a ledge, occasionally the man was on the ledge and the ledge was possibly the most interesting thing about the film. 1 star." Ouch.
How about Carnage, a comedy starring Christoph Waltz, John C Reilly, Kate Winslet and Jodie Foster?
Amy Taylor: "The real star that shines out is Jodie Foster. She just excels as a woman who is very calm, who at the end is a hysterical caricature of herself. Three stars."
Vhari Leishman, however, did not like Charlize Theron’s new movie. She said: "The film I would not recommend is Young Adult. The trailer depicts it as a comedy but it really anything but. It deals with extreme theme of depression, loneliness, alcoholism. It has a great performance by Charlize Theron, you can’t deny she is quite effective in the role but if it is a comedy you are looking for, this is not the one for you. Two stars."
