A pensioner with a walking frame has been mugged as he made his way home from the pub.
The 78-year-old was walking down Lady Menzies Lane in Edinburgh on his way back from an Easter Road pub when he noticed a man in the garden of a house.
As he walked passed he was punched on the face and pushed to the ground. The robber then took all his jewellery and ran off towards Rossie Place.
Lothian and Borders Police are trying to track down the attacker.
He is described as white, in his early 20s, 6ft tall, slim build with a pale, clean shaven complexion. He was wearing a dark anorak with the hood up, black trousers and black shoes or trainers. He spoke with a local accent.
A police spokesman said: "The victim suffered a painful injury to his face but did not require medical attention.
"Nevertheless, this was an upsetting ordeal, which saw him robbed of his jewellery.
"Anyone who was in or around Lady Menzies Lane and witnessed this assault or has any information that can assist with our enquiries is asked to contact police immediately."
Anyone with any information can contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or Crimestoppers in anonymity on 0800 555 111.
