A blazing van on the M8 caused major delays for motorists on both sides of the motorway.
Fire and Police services were called to the scene, close to junction three of the motorway near Livingston, around 7am on Thursday.
The driver of the white van was not in the vehicle by the time emergency services arrived and no casualties were reported.
There were reports of smoke billowing across the carriageway and police confirmed there were "significant tailbacks on both sides".
Lothian and Borders Police closed a lane of the motorway while Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze.
A police spokeswoman said: “The vehicle was removed at 7.50am this morning and at this time the lane was also reopened.
