A young man has died after being hit by a car in the early hours of the morning.
The 20-year-old pedestrian was knocked down on the A911 at Greenside on the High Street in Leslie, Fife, at around 3.15am on Saturday.
The man, who has not yet been formally identified, was hit by a silver Ford Focus. The car was abandoned near the scene and officers from Fife Police are still trying to locate the driver.
Chief Inspector Davie McCulloch, Head of Road Policing, said: "This was a horrific accident which claimed the life of a young man and our enquiries are continuing in the area."
The road was closed to allow a crash investigation to take place and for the vehicle to be removed.
