A woman with a broken foot was pushed off her crutch by a robber who ran off with her handbag.
The 45-year-old was walking home along Henderson Street in Edinburgh just before 9pm on Tuesday after visiting the shops.
Just after she passed the Trafalgar Bar, a man pushed her to the ground and grabbed her handbag before running off to meet another man at Yardheads. The pair then ran off and were lost to sight.
The man was in his 30s, around 5ft 9ins tall, with a round build, short blond hair and was wearing a denim jacket and blue jeans.
Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
A spokesman said: "While the woman wasn't injured, she was understandably distressed as a result of what happened, and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police immediately.
"Likewise, we want to speak to anyone who was in the area of Henderson Street who saw the suspect there, or nearby in the company of another man.
"Anyone who recognises his description, or who has any other information that can assist our inquiries, should also get in touch."
Anyone with any information should contact police on 0131 311 3131 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
