A pensioner has been left "shaken" after having her bag snatched by a man.
The 78-year-old was walking in the car park on the corner of West Loan in Prestonpans at around 4.20pm on Wednesday.
A man ran passed her and grabbed the plastic bag she was carrying. The bag did not contain anything of value.
The robber is described as 5ft 10ins tall and was wearing a beige beanie hat and beige hooded top.
Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for witnesses as they try and track down the attacker.
A spokesman for the force said: "While the victim was not hurt, she was understandably shaken as a result of what happened, and we are appealing for any information that can help us trace the suspect.
"Anyone who was in the area of West Loan Prestonpans yesterday, who either witnessed the incident or noticed anyone acting suspiciously there, should contact police immediately.
"Similarly, anyone who recognises the description of the suspect should also get in touch."
Anyone with any information should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
