John and Edward perform in Glasgow

The X Factor twins John and Edward appeared in Glasgow on Sunday night for a performance in front hundreds of adoring fans.

The pair showed up at Campus in the city’s Sauchiehall Street to a packed crowd. The Irish duo then went on to perform some cheesy covers.

Prior to the show, STV News talked to a few fans waiting to meet their heroes – including one with a "Jedward" tattoo on her wrist.

When asked why she’d been inked with the pair’s combined nickname, she explained: "It’s because I love them, I’d do anything for them. I’m the ultimate fanatic fan, it’ll be there forever and ever, like my love for them!"

Most of those in attendance tried to claim that the pair can actually sing - though at least one or two admitted the opposite was true, saying they were "a good laugh".

John and Edward became known around the world for their shambolic performances on the show, ruining numbers such as Britney Spears’ Oops I Did It Again and the Ghostbusters theme in the process.

Campus marketing and entertainment manager Cameron Craig commented: "I've worked with a lot of big stars but none of them have come anywhere close to this.

"In terms of The X Factor, we've had JLS four times and we thought they were big. It was like Beatlemania with those boys - really insane, scarily so.

"But that is completely overshadowed by John and Edward. This is a whole new level - it has gone up several gears."
