Thousands of people are expected to descend on Glasgow's Kelvingrove Park this weekend to celebrate the colourful Mela Festival.

The vibrant fusion of east and west cultures celebrates its 21st birthday this year, and around 20,000 revellers are expected.

The two-day extravaganza will feature a variety of music, dance and arts events including bhangra and Bollywood acts, Russian folk and Latin American beats.

Headliners include DCS, Manak-E, Gtwon Desi and bass2bass, and visitors will also be able to sample traditional curries.

Councillor George Redmond, chairman of Glasgow Life, said: "The O2 Mela is one of the brightest spectacles in Glasgow's cultural calendar and this year's line-up is the biggest and best yet."
