A diver has died after getting the bends as he surfaced from a wreck.
He was found unconscious on the surface of the water in Wemyss Bay in the Firth of Clyde.
The alert was raised shortly after 1pm on Sunday.
A Royal Navy helicopter from HMS Gannet airlifted the man to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, where he died, Clyde coastguard said.
He and his diving partner companion are thought to have been suffering from the effects of decompression as they explored the wreck of the Kintyre.
The survivor of the accident has been taken to a decompression chamber in Millport. The coastguard said he was expected to make a full recovery.
