A man is fighting for his life after he was stabbed during an attempted murder in Clydebank.
Police said a fight took place between a number of men at around 5pm on Thursday at Kilbowie Court, near to Crown Avenue.
During the incident, a 23-year-old was stabbed several times on the body. He was taken to the Western Infirmary Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery to save his life.
Detective Sergeant Natalie Doherty of Clydebank Police said: "The victim sustained very serious injuries in the incident and it is only thanks to the expertise of the surgeons that he is still alive.
"The area at the rear of Kilbowie Court is very residential, and I am hopeful that several householders in the area may have seen the altercation take place.

The victim remains in hospital in a critical, but stable condition.
