A driver was seriously injured when a car overturned over in the centre of Cumbernauld on Thursday night.
It is thought the vehicle collided with a road sign before overturning on the A8011, the main road through the town, shortly after 6pm.
It is not known how many passengers, if any, were travelling in the vehicle.
Police, ambulance and the fire brigade attended the scene and bystanders reported that the driver of the vehicle had to be cut free by emergency services.
The Central Way road, which was closed northbound between the Tryst Road junction and the B8054 Lye Brae junction in Cumbernauld while the cause of the crash was investigated, reopened around 8.30pm.
