Two women have been killed after being knocked down in separate incidents on Saturday.
A 63-year-old woman died after being struck by a car in a garden centre car park in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, at around 2.25pm.
A 63-year-old man was also left seriously injured following the incident at the MGM Garden Centre.
The man and woman were walking within the car park when they were struck by a Citroen C3 car.
The woman died at the scene while the man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock, and later transferred to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow where he is currently being treated for a head injury. His condition is described as serious but stable.
The 51-year-old female driver of the car was not injured.
In wishaw, an 83-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a car while crossing the road.
The elderly woman was knocked down by a Daewoo Matiz car as she was crossing Kirk Road outside Morrisons Supermarket around 5pm.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Wishaw General Hospital but died a few hours later.
The 80-year-old female driver of the car was not injured but police said she has been left very shaken by the incident.
Strathclyde Police are continuing to investigate both incidents.
