Residents have been evacuated from flats in Glasgow over fears the building is sinking.
Strathclyde Police have closed the busy London Road in the east end of the city while an inspection is carried out on the tenement building at 594.
Traffic has been diverted in the Bridgeton area after the four-storey tenement was closed for safety reasons.
The road has been closed between Abercromby Street and Landressy Street.
Silvergrove Street is also closed because of the dangerous building while there is local access only to Summer St. London Road cannot be accesed by pedestrians via Landressy, Orr, Olympia, Kerr or Anson streets as the investigation into the subsiding building continues.
Strathclyde Fire and Rescue said they have been made aware of the incident but are not currently in attendance.
Glasgow City Council said building contractors are working to make the building, near Bridgeton train station, safe and the factor has been contacted.
A council spokeswoman said: "An unsafe building has sparked the evacuation of eight flats and a shop in Glasgow's East End. The unsafe property at 594 London Road, Glasgow, is a four storey tenement and the concerns centre around movement in the building. It is feared that the top floor flat may be unstable.
"London Road is currently closed to all traffic between Abercromby Street and Landressy Street and it will remain closed while engineers inspect the property and assess the level of risk. The concerns centre around movement in the building.
"At present, three residents have contacted Glasgow City Council's Social Work department in need of emergency accommodation and building control specialists are currently on site along with police and contractors who will make the building safe in the interim. Any other residents who require help with accommodation are urged to contact the Hamish Allen Centre on 0800 838 502."
ScotRail confirmed services at Bridgeton are being disrupted by the unsafe building. A spokesman said: "We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by circumstances outwith our control."
Glasgow's main bus operator, First, said in a message on social networking site Twitter: "London Road closed to traffic by police, junction prior to Bridgeton X - services 18, 46, 64, 263 affected."
