A man has admitted posting sectarian messages about Celtic manager Neil Lennon on social networking site Facebook.
David Craig pled guilty to posting a number of messages of an offensive, abusive, threatening and sectarian nature on the site.
The 24-year-old, from Paisley, posted an image of Mr Lennon which had been doctored to appear that he had been shot a number of times.
Craig admitted committing the crime at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday. He posted the messages about the Celtic manager between March 2 and March 14 last year.
Barry Dickson, football liaison prosecutor for the west of Scotland, said: "The vast majority of football supporters in Scotland are dedicated and enthusiastic and find behaviour such as this abhorrent and totally unacceptable.
"We are absolutely committed to the investigation and prosecution of those either being involved in or promoting sectarianism, religious offences and related disorder and violence.
"Such activity committed by persons who claim to be fans of the game blights the good name of Scottish football and will not be tolerated."
Sentence on Craig was deferred until next month.
