A forestry worker has died while clearing trees from land in the Trossachs.
Lynch operator Ewen MacGregor was using a forwarder vehicle to transport felled trees down a hillside at Brig o’ Turk, near Callander, in Stirlingshire.
The 59-year-old, from Strathyre, in Stirlingshire, was fatally injured by the machinery used to extract timber from the area at around 4.30pm on Wednesday.
Central Scotland Police said Mr MacGregor was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Officers and the Health and Safety Executive are carrying out an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
A forwarder vehicle is used in forestry to transport felled logs to a clearing where they can be cut down further.
