A man has appeared in court in connection with an eight-hour siege at a restaurant in Glasgow city centre.
Edward Johnston, 38, from Whiston, Merseyside, is charged with assault and breach of the peace.
Armed police were called to deal with an incident at Italian restaurant Amarone, at Nelson Mandela Place, on February 10.
On Monday, Johnston appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court where he made no plea nor declaration.
He was remanded to hospital for an assessment order and will appear again at a later date.
Nelson Mandela Place at West George Street was shut off by officers from around 3.45pm on Friday after the incident near Buchanan Street subway station.
West George Street was also closed at West Nile Street as a result of the incident. Glasgow Subway closed Buchanan Street station at the request of the police and asked travellers to use St Enoch station instead.
A police cordon was set up around Nelson Mandela Place with shoppers, residents and commuters being diverted from the area, while some customers were kept in shops nearby as police dealt with the incident.
