Extraordinary footage has emerged showing a car driving on the wrong side of a dual carriageway road near East Kilbride.
The car, a silver Renault Clio, was filmed from a van as it drove on the opposite side of the central reservation.
Other vehicles, including cars and vans, swerve to get out the way of the car as it drove along at speed into two lanes of oncoming traffic.
The driver of the Clio, who appears to be a man wearing a baseball cap, seems to be alone in the vehicle.
The passenger in the van who filmed the car that was travelling on the wrong side tells the driver beside him to flash his lights at oncoming motorists to warn them of the oncoming hazard.
The driver of the van where the passenger filmed the car comments that he fears there will be an accident.
They notice that the car on the wrong side is not even slowing down in the face of the traffic and is often driving in the outside lane.
The footage was posted on the YouTube video sharing site on February 15, although it was filmed a couple of weeks before then.
The person who uploaded the footage - a relative of one of the men in the van when the footage was filmed - said it was filmed on the B767, although one viewer commented that he thinks it was in fact filmed on the A726 from East Kilbride to the M77.
