A nursery worker has been charged with a series of sex attacks on young children.

Alexander Mortimer, from Rutherglen, appeared in court charged with an array of offences including two attacks on children.

He is also alleged to have taken indecent photographs of youngsters and is further charged with possessing child abuse images.

The 28-year-old faces seven charges in total.

Mortimer made no plea or declaration when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

He was detained in custody and will appear again at a later date.
