Glencairn suffer defeat to Cumbernauld United in the second round of the New Coin Automatics West of Scotland Cup

Rutherglen Glencairn crash out of the West of Scotland Cup after a weekend defeat to Cumbernauld United.

Manager Willie Harvey was missing a number of key players from his squad for the New Coin Automatics Cup fixture on Saturday, January 14.

The depleted team were beaten 3 – 0 by United at the Clyde Gateway Stadium.

The Glens surrendered two goals in the first half. Cumbernauld’s Gary Gibson netted two within the first 25 minutes.

United’s Ross Hayman called time on the game with a strike in the 50th minute.

Glencairn will travel to Ayrshire to take on Dalry Thistle this weekend.
