Additional Prize Draw Rules
 
The Prize: 
  • 3 winners will perform (sing) two songs solo (individual performance), (a party anthem and a song of your choice, which could be your own original song or a cover) live onstage at the “Summer Nights at The Kelvingrove Bandstand” as part of Ewan & Cat’s support show ahead of Marti Pellow’s performance on one of the following nights; August 6th, 7th or 8th 2026 (the “Event”).
  • All songs (including originals and covers) are subject to licence restrictions and the approval of the Event promoter and, where applicable, any other relevant third parties associated with the Event. The Event promoter may require a winner to select and perform an alternative song at the Event.
  • Your performance of the two songs must come to a duration of no more than 8 minutes in total
  • £100 travel expenses to attend the event. 
Additionally: 
  • Where 5 shortlisted entrants are selected, you will attend and perform a song of your choice at the STV Radio Studios in Glasgow, to be broadcast on the Ewen and Cat Breakfast Show for the audience vote.
  • The song of your choice for the audience vote could be your own original song or, subject to licence restrictions and conditions, a cover. If STV Radio’s broadcast music licences or song policies do not permit the performance of the song of your choice, you will need to select a different song to perform in collaboration with STV Radio.
  • £50 travel expenses will be provided to attend the studio.  
How to Enter:  
  • Access the online entry form available on the STV Radio Website at www.stvradio.co.uk.
  • Upload a 60-second video, via the online entry form, introducing yourself and performing a song of your choice. You may wish to play an instrument like the acoustic guitar as part of your entry, but performing to a backing track or acapella is also fine.
  • You can pick a song of your choice. Your own original song or a cover version.
  • Provide the following information via the online entry form: Name, Contact Number, Email Address, Link to your public Social Pages (if any). 
 
Competition Submission Period:   
  • The period for competition submissions will open at 8am on Mon 15th June at 08:00 and close on Sunday 28th June at 23:59. 
 
Entry Criteria:  
  • Entry is limited to solo performers only.
  • One entry per performer.
  • Entrants must be aged 18 or over and reside in Scotland.
  • Entrants must be available on Thursday 6th, Friday 7th and Saturday 8th August 2026.
  • Entrants must be an unsigned artist, meaning that they are unsigned to a record label and unsigned to a publishing deal.
  • The use of AI tools or functionality is not permitted as part of your entry.
  • STV employees, immediate family members and anyone professionally connected with the competition or its administration are excluded from entry.
 
Videos Submitted by Entrants as Part of their Competition Entry:   
  • Unless otherwise agreed, the Promoter does not claim any rights of ownership in any materials that are included with, or that form part of, your competition entry. As such, as between you (the entrant) and the Promoter, you (the entrant) retain ownership of the entry and by submitting your entry, you authorise the Promoter and the STV group of companies to use the entry and any materials forming part of it, for the purposes of:
    operating the competition;
    any publicity or reporting of the competition or any of the Promoter’s competition-related activities; and
    selecting a shortlist and/or the winners for the competition.
  • By entering this competition, you (the entrant) grant the Promoter and the STV group of companies (and third parties authorised by the Promoter) a non-exclusive, transferable and sub-licensable, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable licence (for the full period of any rights in your competition entry) for the Promoter and the STV group of companies to use, reproduce, distribute, display, edit, perform and adapt the entry and each part thereof, for use in all media whether now known or subsequently developed. All use of entries will remain subject to applicable rights, licences and legal restrictions.
  • Where you (the entrant) choose to submit a performance of an original work, you (the entrant) warrant and confirm to the Promoter and the STV group of companies that your competition entry submitted to the Promoter: is your own original work composed solely by you without the input of any third party; and it does not infringe any other person's rights, including without limitation intellectual property rights. You (the entrant) agree to indemnify the Promoter and the STV group of companies for any and all losses that they suffer due to your breach of this warranty.
  • By submitting your competition entry to the Promoter, you (the entrant) warrant and confirm to the Promoter and the STV group of companies that your entry and all materials submitted:
    do not contravene any entitlement to privacy of any person, and that consent has been obtained from anyone identified within the submission;
    do not breach any obligation of confidentiality; and/or
    do not contain anything which is libellous, defamatory, obscene, indecent, harassing or threatening.
  • You (the entrant) agree to indemnify the Promoter and the STV group of companies for any and all losses that they suffer due to your breach of any of the warranties set out above.
  • You (the entrant) agree not to submit files to the Promoter or to the STV group of companies which contain viruses or other technologically harmful material.
  • Please be aware that neither the Promoter nor the STV group of companies accepts responsibility for the return of any Competition entries to Competition entrants. 
 
Shortlist Selection:
  • To run the competition, the Promoter must receive at least 3 eligible competition entries. If the Promoter receives less than 3 eligible competition entries, the competition will be cancelled.
  • If the Promoter receives more than 3 but less than 5 eligible competition entries, the public vote will be cancelled. Instead, the 3 winners will be decided solely by the Judging Panel.
  • Shortlist selection will proceed only where there are 5 or more eligible competition entries. 
  • A Judging Panel comprising of Marti Pellow, Ewen Cameron, Cat Harvey, Cat Mullen and, an Independent Judge - Jon McLaughlin, will judge the competition entries and will select a shortlist of the top five performers based on the entrants’ singing voice and ability to perform.
  • The shortlist (“Finalists”) will be selected by Friday 3rd July 2026 and be announced on-air during the Ewen and Cat Breakfast show w/c 13th July.
  • Finalists will be invited to perform the song that they submitted to stvradio.co.uk (subject to licence restrictions and conditions, and to STV song policies) on “Ewen & Cat at Breakfast” on the same day they are announced as a Finalist[GM6.1]. If STV Radio’s broadcast music licences or song policies do not permit the performance of the song of your choice, you will need to select, in collaboration with STV Radio, a different song to perform on the show.
  • Finalists must attend the STV Radio Studios, Pacific Quay, Glasgow and perform their song live in the Studios on a date notified to them by the Promoter, which could be any date between 13 and 17 July (inclusive), to be considered for the public vote.
  • If any Finalist is unable to perform at STV Radio Studios, Pacific Quay, Glasgow the Judging Panel will choose another Finalist.
  • The Promoter will provide £50 in expenses to each Finalist to attend the studio.
 
Public Voting:   
  • Once all five Finalists have performed on “Ewen and Cat at Breakfast”, STV Radio will invite listeners to vote for their favourite performance.
  • The public voting period will open on Friday 17th July at 08:30am and closes on Monday 20th July at 08:00am.
  • A short recap of all 5 Finalists’ performances (extracts only) will be broadcast on STV Radio before opening the public vote.
  • STV Radio will also broadcast the recap of all 5 Finalists’ performances (extracts only) periodically on-air throughout the voting period to remind listeners of the performances and to assist listeners to vote..

  • One vote permitted per email address

Restrictions: Listeners in the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands only
 
 
Winner Selection and Notification:
  • The three winners of the competition will be declared from either;
    the finalists with the most public votes or,
    where less than 5 entries, the finalists selected by the panel
  • In the event that the public vote results in a tie break, the Independent Judge, at their sole discretion, will choose the winners.
  • Winners will be contacted by email and/or telephone within 5 days of the public voting closing date (“winner notification period”).    
  • The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of eligibility.  Failure to provide sufficient evidence to demonstrate eligibility will result in disqualification and the Promoter, at its sole discretion, may select a new winner.   
  • The winners must confirm acceptance of the Prize to STV within 48 hours of the winner notification period. Failure to respond or accept within 48 hours will disqualify your entry and STV, at its sole discretion, may select a new winner(s).   
  • The three winners will be announced live on “Ewen and Cat at Breakfast” on STV Radio on Monday 20th July at 8am.
    The entrant with the most votes will get to choose which of the three dates they would like to perform on (6th/7th or 8th of August)
    The entrant with second most votes will get to choose from the remaining two dates.
    The entrant with the third most votes will perform on the remaining date.
  • Each winner can bring one guest to the event and receive entry for the show on the night of their performance.
 
Additional Terms:
  • In the event that all or part of the event (over three dates) is cancelled, the competition will be deemed as cancelled. No alternative prize will be made available.
 
Privacy Information:
 
STV Audio Limited:  STV will process your personal information only for the purpose of managing and facilitating the STV Radio Competition and otherwise in accordance with our privacy notice.
 
With your permission, STV will share your contact details (name, phone number, and email address) with Regular Music for the sole purpose of providing access to the event and organising any requirements you may have for your performance.
